Frequently Asked Questions – MS Cake Challenge and Show
Q. “I have a conflict on Sunday mornings with Church. Do I have any options?”
A. We will be at the Moose Lodge on Saturday evening the 28th from 5-7 pm. If you need to drop your cake off on Saturday we will accept it and allow you to set it up.Q. “Are we decorating onsite and being timed?”
A. No, you are to bring your cake completely decorated. Dummy cakes are accepted if you prefer to start working on your entry now.Q. “For the cake entered for the professional category that needs to be within the 24-36″, do gumpaste decorations on top of the cake count for some of the required height?”
A. The cake’s height is measured upon completion of its decorations being in place and being set up at the location.Q. “Regarding the taste division, the cakes we bring decorated, are they the same ones that will be cut for tasting?”
A. The taste category is a separate category all together, therefore if you want to do a decorated cake you pay for one entry and if you want to do taste as well, that is another fee.Q. “The info says there will be a bake sale to benefit NMSS as well, are you selling my cake?”
A. We are asking all entrants to consider donating to the bake sale. We are accepting all packaged baked goods (cookies, brownies, pies, etc). If you wish to auction or sell your cake for the charity that is an option as well.Q. “I am not sure I still have time to enter and I don’t know what category I would need to be in”
A. If you would like to pay online and fax or email your completed registration that is perfectly fine. Please email us for instructions info@NWFLFightsMS.org We can also help you choose the appropriate category based on your experience.Remember to sign up before July 14th using the links below.

MS Challenge Walk – Cape Cod
It is a 50 mile walk over three days in Cape Cod, MA.
It is a fundraising event for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and it happens to begin on my Mother’s birthday, September 7.
It is something I can’t NOT participate in.This year marks the 5th anniversary of my Mother’s death after a very courageous fight against Multiple Sclerosis. Her battle began in the mid 1980′s when she was diagnosed with Primary Progressive MS. On September 10, 2007 she was called home by God. I know in my heart Mom is dancing again in Heaven.
I am taking this challenge and walking 50 miles because Multiple Sclerosis angers me. MS has been a part of my life since Junior High School. My Aunt and Cousin live with MS as do so very many of my dear friends. Far too many.
Can you name one person that has not been affected in some way by MS? Everyone knows someone living with or affected by Multiple Sclerosis, a family member, a friend, or a neighbor.I am telling you about my mission because some patients can no longer be heard.
I am walking for all of those that can’t.
I have accepted this challenge to raise MS awareness.
I am raising money to find a cure.
I want the diagnosis of MS to come with the promise of a cure.
I will not stop my mission until that day.To accomplish this, I will need your help in several different areas.
- I am seeking monetary donations for this event, each participant has a minimum $1500 personal fundraising goal to reach.
- I am looking for donations of frequent flier miles for Delta Airlines. I will need to fly from NW Florida to New England for this event and I am short on Delta miles for my ticket.
- I am asking for corporate sponsorship. I will use your company logo in my team gear both in New England and here in Pensacola.
- I am looking for additional training partners. Anyone who is interested in joining me for 3 – 15 mile training walks.
Are you able to help us? Below is the link to make a tax deductible donation to NMSS. If you are interested in corporate sponsorship, have a few extra Delta Airlines miles to spare, or want to join me on this training adventure, please contact me carrie@nwflfightsms.orghttp://main.nationalmssociety.org/goto/carrieknife50miles
God bless you all.
Peace and Love,
Carrie
